These two services are not performed at Desína Ink Tattoos under any circumstance. Every other placement listed above is available by appointment or during walk-in hours, Thursday through Saturday.

Jewelry standards

Implant-grade only

  • ASTM F-136 titanium. Implant-grade, nickel-free, and safe for fresh piercings and sensitive skin.
  • Internally threaded or threadless. Smooth insertion, no threading dragged through fresh tissue.
  • Correctly sized at placement. Fresh piercings are fitted with extra length to allow for swelling, then downsized.
  • No mystery metal. Externally threaded, plated, or unmarked jewelry is not installed here.

Timelines are typical ranges. Downsizing appointments matter more than the calendar.

Piercing aftercare

The short version

Do

  • Sterile saline spray twice daily, morning and night.
  • Rinse in the shower and pat dry with clean paper towel.
  • Sleep off the piercing; use a travel pillow for ears.
  • Come back for your downsize once swelling settles.

Don't

  • No alcohol, peroxide, tea tree oil, or ointments.
  • Don't twist, rotate, or play with the jewelry.
  • No pools, hot tubs, or lakes while healing.
  • Don't change jewelry early — it restarts the clock.

Age policy

Age & guardian requirements

  • Tattoos: 18+ with a valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions.
  • Minors may receive select ear and nostril piercings with a parent or legal guardian physically present for the entire appointment.
  • The guardian must present their own valid photo ID plus documentation linking them to the minor (birth certificate or court order).
  • Genital, nipple, and surface piercings are 18+ only.
  • A piercing may be declined at the artist's discretion if the placement, anatomy, or circumstances aren't right — refusal is a safety call, not a judgment.
